A decision by Yadah to ‘suspend’ head coach Jairos Tapera backfired in spectacular fashion when Yadah were handed one of the heaviest defeat in Zimbabwe Premier League history when they lost 7-2 to Bantu Rovers.

Tapera was allegedly suspended earlier in the week after ‘changing the team’ against Dynamos which Yadah went on to lose. Magaya who is the club owner and technical director took charge of the squad for part of last week with Tapera and his assistant frozen out.

Tapera was absent at Luveve with only Team manager Munyaradzi Sinani and the team medic and physio making the technical bench.

Five minutes into the match Bukhosi Sibanda opened the scoring for Bantu Rovers.Rover doubled the lead in the 18th minute through Gladman Bharibhari but Yadah pulled one back through Morris Musiyakuvi two minutes.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed away quickly when Obriel Chirinda made it three.Sianchali and Bukhosi then added two more goals to give the home side a comfortable 5-1 lead.

With Yadah looking hapless and with Bantu Rovers eying a big win more goals came through in the second half. Bukhosi Ncube completed his hat-trick in the 59th minute to put his season tally to seven goals while Mobinisi Ncub e added a seventh.

Yadah managed to score a second through Musiyakuiv just before the full-time whistle but the damage had been done as Bantu Rovers recorded their biggest win in the top flight.

At Ascot Stadium Highlanders were frustrated by Chapungu as they played out a goalless draw with the game seeing both sides wasting  chances.

At Baobab Stadium Quadr Amini’s goal after being set up by Teguru was the difference as Ngezi Platinum edged Shabanie 1-0 .

ZPC Kariba beat Bulawayo City 2-0 with Daniel Chakupe scoring both goals while Edwin Madhananga struck in the 81st minute to give Harare City a 1-0 win over Tsholostsho at Dulivhadzimu in Beitbridge.
