Tapera mum on shennanigans at Yadah

Suspended Yadah FC coach, Jairos Tapera, has refused to comment on the developments at the club following the suspension of the technical team after the defeat at the hands of Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium last week.

The president and technical director of Yadah FC, Prophet Walter Magaya, suspended the technical team soon after the 1-0 loss, which ended the premier league debutantes’ premier league unbeaten run.

It is largely unknown whether Tapera and his crew of assistants, Thomas Ruzive and Themba Sibanda will make it back into the dugout ahead of their encounter against Chicken Inn at home.

“I cannot say anything at the moment. Maybe the chairman (Everson Chatambudza) knows better,” Tapera told Soccer24.

“Maybe you can talk to the chairman or the owner of the club. Maybe they are in a better position to say something.”

Yadah have won two games, drawn three and lost two in seven games. Tapera came under fire for turning down ‘instructions’ which he had been given on team selection by the technical director when they played former premier league champions Dynamos.

Before their 1-0 loss, Yadah recorded a 1-1 draw away at Chapungu. The president and technical director also blamed the draw on Tapera’s decision to change the initially selected team, and eventually reportedly played without a left back and a right back.

Against Dynamos, Tapera reportedly said he had had a dream in which he saw one midfielder, Tatenda Dzumbunu, who had initially not made it into the starting line-up, participating. The said dream influenced Tapera’s decision to field the player against prior deliberations.

According to Magaya, upon realisation of the blunder, Tapera apparently made a dramatic U-turn on his dream, making an odd substitution 10 minutes after Dynamos’ first half goal, before telling Dzumbunu that he never wanted to see him again.

Magaya was reportedly upset by Tapera’s decision to fire the player, whom he said was good, but had never been in the team’s technical plans for the day.

Yadah FC were resultantly thumped 7-2 by fellow newcomers Bantu Rovers at Luveve Stadium on Saturday in a match where only the team manager, Munyaradzi Sinani, team medic Victor Katsande and physiotherapist, Mike Mavhura, set on the bench.
