Chikuni: Chapungu will not be relegated despite poor start

CHAPUNGU gaffer Tendai Chikuni has assured club fans that their team will not be relegated at the end of the season despite an indifferent start to the Castle Lager premiership season.

The airmen are yet to register a win this season and are languishing at the bottom of the 18 team league table with just three points from the seven games they have played so far.

However, The Chapungu gaffer believes their fortunes will soon turn around for the better.

“If you saw the display we showed against Highlanders you will agree with me that we are going somewhere as a club. This is a rebuilding exercise where we are bringing a new culture and things like this are bound to happen but I promise you results will come sooner or later,” said Chikuni.

“There is no need to panic and I assure you that relegation is out of the question at the end of the season. We have our targets as a club and as a coach I am confident that we will achieve those targets,” he added.

The airmen never allowed the Bulawayo giants to find their rhythm as they kept possession and suffocated them from the middle of the park.
