Yadah denies Mugadza’s appointment as new coach

Newly promoted Yadah Stars have denied hiring a new head coach in Rosemary Mugadza after reports of the appointment recently went awash on social media.

Mugadza, the former Mighty Warriors coach, is the head coach of the Harare City Queens, who are in their maiden season in the Women’s Super League. The rumour came after Yadah Stars suspended coach, Jairos Tapera, for tactical differences with club president and technical director, Walter Magaya, after a 1-0 defeat to Dynamos a fortnight ago.

Tapera missed the last match against Bantu Rovers, a move that clearly backfired with the new boys being thumbed 7-2 by fellow league newcomers.

Chairman, Everson Chatambudza, has moved motion to dispel the rumours that the club is appointing the former women’s senior national team gaffer.

There also appears to be new twists and contradictions in the relationship between Tapera and Yadah Stars after the chairman seemingly denied the latter’s reported suspension.

“Tapera is our coach. We would have made it official if he was suspended or fired. I am sure these are issues circulating all over and we have been trying to clear the air,” Chatambudza explained.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Tapera has resumed his duties at Yadah Stars, taking charge of the team’s training session today as they prepare for their next league encounter against Chicken Inn at the National Sports Stadium this Saturday.

The development comes after the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) issued a warning to Yadah Stars against fulfilling assignments without qualified coaches.
