Mahachi nets in Golden Arrows win

Kudakwashe Mahachi scored a winning goal as Golden Arrows beat Baroka 3-2 in the ABSA Premiership on Saturday to close in on the top half of the log.

The Zimbabwean scored the third goal after Siphelele Mangubane and Larato Lamola’s goals. Baroka got both their goals from Victor Letsoala.

With scores at 2-1 in favour of Arrows, Mahachi had a cracker of a goal in the 77th minute after Fikizolo crossed the ball to him from the left hand side, Mahachi made no mistake to give his side a 3-1 lead.

Baroka were awarded a penalty in stoppage time when Nkosingiphile Gumede was adjudged to have committed a foul. Richard Matloga scored the penalty but the effort was ruled out after a Baroka player Ryan Munetsi had entered the box before the ball crossed the line.

Arrows also had in their ranks Zimbabwe international Danny Phiri who played a good game in all 90 minutes.

Golden Arrows are now seating 9th position on the log table with 35 points from 28 matches and they will face Cape Town City away in their next league schedule.
