ZIFA pegs gates charges for Warriors AFCON qualifier

The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has pegged the gate charges for the opening 2019 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier between the Warriors and Liberia, as the association looks to cash in on the match.

The match set for the 11th of June will see fans fork out US$3 for the cheapest ticket.

Fans will pay US$5 for the bays 15-18 while a ticket to the VIP enclosure will cost US$20.

ZIFA will attempt to break even in an environment where corporate support for football is almost non-existent.

The Warriors under the guidance of Norman Mapeza will be hoping to make a successive return to the AFCON showpiece to be hosted by Cameroon.

The other teams in the Group are DR Congo and Congo. Group winners from across the 12 groups, the host nation, and three best placed runners-up will qualify for the finals.
