Dynamos coach, Lloyd Mutasa, has come to the defence of under fire centre half, Elisha Muroiwa, after their 1-0 loss to premier league returnees Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium in Harare Thursday evening.

The Tanzania bound Warriors defender blundered when he attempted a back pass to goalkeeper, Tonderai Mateyaunga, which was immediately intercepted and buried behind the goalkeeper by forward, Lot Chiwunga.

“Muroiwa is a Dynamos player; he’s our player but ‘every dog has its day’. You know such blunders do happen in football. It was tough luck, we lost as a team. We always lose or win as a team,”Mutasa told journalists after the match.

Mutasa also said the team lacked concentration and resultantly failed to communicate effectively and snatch the vital result.

“We had a lapse of concentration hence we gave them a goal and it was game lost.

“I think we created very few chances; very, very few chances here and there and we failed to convert the few that we got and I would like to believe that we had a lapse of concentration . . . for the goal that they scored. It was more of a blunder on our part.

“We wanted to have the winning momentum, unfortunately these setbacks do happen in football, but what is key is how you respond after such a setback,” he said.

Dynamos have seven points from six matches and have two games in hand. They await PSL ruling on their abandoned match at Barboufields stadium on Sunday.
