I have no control over fans, says Mutasa

Dynamos coach, Lloyd Mutasa, has said he is calm and that the former premier league champions’ disgruntled fans are beyond his control.

The home fans jeered the former Dynamos midfielder for a string of poor results as Dembare slump to position 13 with eight points from seven games.

Speaking in the wake of their premier league 1-1 home draw against Shabanie at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday, Mutasa said the views of the fans and those of the coaches are bound to be different.

“Like I said before, these people, I don’t have control over them. They have their own views; they have their own perception. They see football in a way they want. Me as a coach, I look at how we train, how we execute our duties. There are many factors that maybe at the end of the day produce such results,” Mutasa told journalists after the match.

Dynamos scored through Cameroonian forward, Christian Ntouba Epoupa, just 16 minutes into the first half before Shabanie midfielder, Collin Dhuwa, leveled the scoreline at the stroke of half time.

The gaffer has come under criticism from the latest result which comes immediately after succumbing to a 1-0 loss to Black Rhinos on Thursday evening. The Glamour Boys have now recorded two wins, two draws and three losses in the premier league.

“Obviously playing at home you get a point when you need three you become disappointed.

“It’s a setback [but] in life you need to get back in order to go upfront. You play a game [and] you score one [goal], you create numerous chances but you don’t take the chances you are bound not to collect points.

Mutasa said his boys missed several clear chances which could have earned them a vital home win against the premier league debuntes.

“I’m sure it was an element of conversion rate, an element of converting the chances that came our way. I thought we had a number of chances that came our way, I’m sure we had a number of chances that we thought on a good day we would have buried but everything boils back to the coach after such events,” he added.

The referee turned down what appeared to be a genuine penalty for Dynamos in the first half after defender, Lloyd Nyamande, appeared to handle the ball in the box.

“I have always said that you know in football as a coach you don’t talk much about things you don’t have control over and probably what I talk [about] is how my boys managed not to score from the chances that we got,” he said.
