Sorry Sunday for Sunday

ZPC Kariba coach, Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Chidzambwa, has expressed disappointment in his side’s 3-1 premier league loss away at Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Sunday.

ZPC Kariba, who have extended their winless streak to three games, fell to goals from Emmanuel Mandiranga, Denver Mukamba and Quality Kangadze in the 32nd, 57th and 93rd minutes respectively. They, however, managed a consolation through Daniel Chakupe 15 minutes from time.

Speaking to journalists after the match, Chidzambwa said he did not understand how his players had displayed such a poor performance.

“. . . the goals that we conceded were very simple goals. I mean, I don’t understand us conceding a goal from a corner which is headed inside the six-yard box. That is terrible. So we had a bad day in office,” he said.

“Basically, we played badly. In a game of football if you miss chances you get punished and in the first half we had two very good chances that we missed.”

Fourth placed ZPC Kariba, who started the season on a high, have become stagnant and are now on 19 points from 11 entries as their rivals gain momentum.

“We have to go back to the drawing board and start again. As you know in football you sometimes hit a bad patch and I think we have hit one,” said Chidzambwa.
