Musona joins Peter Ndlovu in the hallowed ranks of Zimbabwe’s hat trick heroes

In 37 years of Zimbabwe’s senior team existence, only six players have scored three times against opposition. On Sunday Knowledge Musona jpined their ranks.

Scoring while representing one’s country begets great feelings not to talk of repeating such feat three times in a match. On Sunday, Knowledge Musona scored a hat trick for the Warriors in their opening 2019 AFCON qualifier match against Liberia in a 3-0 victory.

The 27-year-old KV Oostende attacker scored his treble in the 24th, 50th and 64th minutes to help to an emphatic victory as they seek a successive AFCON appearence. With that feat, Musona has joined an enviable class of Zimbabwean goal scorers who have poached three goals in the colours of the national team.
