Kangadze sets sight on golden boot

Dynamos striker, Quality Kangadze, has set his sights on winning the 2017 premier league golden boot.

The former Trojan Stars forward, who moved to the former premier league champions in the summer transfer window, has scored three goals for Dynamos in the premier league.

“I believe I can win the golden boot. Quiet as I have been, but slowly getting there,” he told Soccer24.

The 2016 premier league golden boot winner was CAPS United striker, Leonard Tsipa, who finished the season with nine goals.

“My personal target is . . . to score about 10 to 15 goals, that’s my target. If not, 10, but [I would love] 15,” he added.

The premier league returns this week after the international break with Dynamos playing premier league log leaders, Ngezi Platinum Stars, in a mid evening kick-off clash at home at the National Sports Stadium on Thursday.

“This game we must win. There is nothing else we are expecting, we must simply grind the result in this game. I, as an individual, must score and I must score [at least] one [goal]. I’m not going back, because I must make sure that every game I must score.

Kangadze had a slow start to the season, scoring his first premier league goal against Triangle in their 2-2 away. He scored in their 3-1 victory over ZPC Kariba recently. Kangadze scored the only goal in their away win against Tsholotsho this early month as Dynamos recorded three wins in a row.

“You know in football, sometimes you go off form, so when you are off form you must not be the kind of guy who looks down too much. You must work that your scenario to go forward. But I’m happy with my performance,” he said.
