Ndiraya not feeling the heat despite Dynamos loss

Ngezi Platinum Stars head coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, has said they are not yet feeling the heat at the top of the table despite losing 3-2 to Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium on Thursday.

The defeat saw the Glamour boys end Ndiraya’s six game premier league unbeaten run ensuring that Black Rhinos remain at the top of the log on goal difference.

Speaking to members of the media after the defeat, the former Dynamos player and coach said Dynamos is a big team and dropping points is part of football.

“Not really, look, this is part of football. We had gone on a five match winning streak, I thought we handled that well, but when we drew that match (Chapungu), I thought today we would come back into the game considering the way we have dominated.

“But look, this is what happens in football, when you draw at home, when you fail to pick up points at home, you go away to play an opposition of Dynamos’ magnitude, you have to be really at your best.

“. . . we are not feeling any heat at all, it’s part of football, we just have to be strong and try and pick up points in our next game,” Ndiraya said.

Ndiraya said the match gave the fans a good run for their money despite disappointingly losing the three points.

“Good entertaining football for the fans because I thought the fans were in for a treat, but a disappointing result for my team,” he said.

“I thought we defended badly today. We conceded the three goals of course through lack of concentration. We started the game well, I thought we started well, we dominated, we created some opportunities. That has been our way of doing things since the start of the season. We create so many opportunities, but we fail to put them away.

“So Dynamos just got a goal against the run of play, when they had been on the back foot and I thought we came back strongly and equalized [then] took the lead. Again, our defending was so atrocious in this game and that resulted in them (Dynamos) scoring that free kick. I thought it was a well taken free kick by Ocean Mushure.

“. . . but I thought it was a good game, but of course it’s one [where] we lost three points. We just have to go back, plan and move on.”
