Dynamos wish Muroiwa and Mutasa well at Singida United

Dynamos wish centre back, Elisha Muroiwa and forward, Wisdom Mutasa, well ahead of the new season where they will play for Tanzanian top flight side Singida United.

The 28-year-old former Twalumba FC defender and the 22-year-old former FC Platinum forward signed two year contracts with the Tanzanian top flight side which kicked in beginning of July and expiring in June 2019.

“We appreciate the contribution they made and we would want to wish them luck in their new endeavours,” Dynamos head coach, Lloyd Mutasa, told Soccer24.

The ‘Glamour Boys’ gaffer kick-started the 2017 season with a new look Dynamos which saw veteran players such as Black Rhinos’ centre back, Sydney Linyama, Highlanders striker, Roderick Mutuma and Steven Alimenda being shown the exit amid accusations of insubordination.

After two years without a trophy, (Lloyd) Mutasa trusted the youthful Dynamos to be at the heart of a turn-around and regularly featured the former ZPC Kariba attacker, Wisdom Mutasa, who also happens to be his son, alongside other little known players.

In the absence of Muroiwa lately, Dynamos have featured and rotated defenders, Lincoln Zvasiya, Obey Mwerahari, Peace Makaha and Marshal Machazane.

Due to his profile, Muroiwa will reportedly earn a staggering $6 000-per-month salary at Singida United after reportedly pocketing a whopping $20 000 in signing on fees while Mutasa will reportedly earn slightly less than the star centre back.

The Tanzanian top flight league begins in August and according to Muroiwa, Singida United kick start pre-season preparations towards end of this month.

“I think it’s a club that has ambitions and most of the players there are foreign players who are also playing international games [for their countries] like AFCON and I think we have higher chances of winning the Vodacom premier league and also play in the champions league.

“I think it was a good move because I have a new challenge, new people, new coaches, and I think it’s a good place for me as a stepping stone to go forward,” Muroiwa recently told Soccer24.

Lloyd Mutasa is away on national team duty where he is participating in the ongoing Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Castle Cup in South Africa. He is Sunday Chidzambwa’s assistant as the Warriors reached COSAFA Castle Cup final where they will meet Zambia.

Meanwhile, Dynamos assistant coach, Biggie Zuze, will be in charge of second placed ‘Glamour Boys’ for the second time when they play Chicken Inn away on Sunday after their recent 2-0 home victory over Bantu Rovers which took them on a six match winning streak.
