Pfumbidzai regrets his actions

CAPS United fullback Ronald Pfumbidzai has expressed his regret after an outburst with coach Lloyd Mutasa during a league match on Wednesday.

The South Africa-bound left footer exhibited a bad behaviour when he was substituted in the last minutes of the game. He refused to shake hands with his replacement nor his coach. After the game he went straight to the changing room while his team mates went to salute the fans.

In an interview with the Herald, Pfumbidzai said he regrets his actions and there is no bad blood with the coaches.

“It is so unfortunate that incident happened, especially at such a time when I am leaving the club, and it will have many connotations but the truth of the matter is I am in good books with my coaches and I have always been,’’ he said.

The player also said his conduct resulted from frustration.

“Maybe, I am different, but I am a very passionate player with a strong fighting spirit and I don’t like to be substituted. I am one person who can play with an injury.

“I love my team and I was not angry at the coach, it happened in the heat of the moment but everyone was cool with it after the game and even my teammates understood me”.

Ronald Pfumbidzai could play his last game on Sunday when his team host Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium. He will be joining ABSA Premiership side Bloemfontein Celtic
