5 Takeaways from Castle Lager Premiership Week 22

A lot of drama happened during the Castle Larger Premier Soccer League Matchday 22 over the weekend. Here are five biggest highlights picked from the weekend’s action.

Reality check for Ngezi Platinum 

Ngezi Platinum Stars’ fairytale run came to a crushing halt when they lost away to CAPS United. They have went for four games without dropping points and their goal average per game was 3.5 in their last four outings. However they lost in a match which they did not score and conceded three goals on the way.

The Resurgence of Caps United

The win over Ngezi Platinum on Sunday was the first game they scored three goals since 6 July clash against Bantu Rovers. They have now posted an impressive ten points in their last four games. The Green Machine seem to be getting back to their best and crucially are moving up the table and have a number of games in hand. 

RhinosBad form continues

At one point Black Rhinos were tipped to be title favourites but their recent form has called for a concern. Saturday‘s loss to Chicken Inn was their fifth in a row and their worst run this season. From title aspirants Rhinos are now heading towards the dreaded relegation zone. Head coach Stanford Mtizwa admits he side are on a terrible spell but remains optimistic they can turn things around soon 

Chicken Inn‘s boost title aspirations

Rahman Gumbo said his team was on the right track to win the title. True to his words they extended their unbeaten run to seven games. Chicken Inn are now on top of the table with 45 points and look like solid. 

Chungwa‘s Form: Three goals in two games all headers

With CAPS United finding its form so is Dominic Chungwa. The striker has scored three goals in the last two games. Can you believe it, he did all that with his head.
