Caps Shifts Focus To Rhinos

Caps United are now shifting their attention to their next match against faltering Black Rhinos after an emphatic 3-0 win over Ngezi Platinum.

Caps United have regained their mojo after going through a lean spell in which they had gone for four matches without a win after their exit from the African Champions League.

The defending champions had struggled in the catch up games but wins against ZPC Kariba, FC Platinum and lately Ngezi Platinum has brought back the confidence among the players and the fans alike.
However assistant coach Fungai Kwashi say the team needs to forget about previous results and focus on the next hurdle against Rhinos.

” We now need to forget about these results and focus on the next match which is up against Black Rhinos in the midweek. We need to work against complacency because Rhinos are another tough opponent so we need to remain focused,” said Kwashi.

The Caps United coach also said the club has been a victim of its own success which has seen critics expecting too much from them.

” We set the barometer too high after winning the league title and participating in the African champions league but in every footballing world you go through a lean spell. Manchester United and Barcelona have gone through the same spell and people laughed at them but us we are united and we are Caps United. We remained united as a family and we will remain united,”.

Striker Dominic Chungwa has led the mini revival getting on to the target four times in the last four games. Caps United are now on 24 points from 17 games while log leaders Chicken Inn are on 45 points from 22 matches.
