Ronaldo clinches UEFA Player of the Year again

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named UEFA Player of the year during a Champions league draw event held in Switzerland.

The Portugal international retained the award after named the best player last season. He was part of the team which won the 2016/17 final. With 13 appearances through out the season, scoring twelve goals, Cristiano Ronaldo beat his rivalry Leo Messi again to the best forward of the season gong. Last season Ronaldo became the first player to score in three finals.

Another Real Madrid star Luka Modric begged the Midfielder of the year award. His exploits never went unnoticed and had a great season winning the final.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos took home the best defender award. He made 46 clearances during the season.

However, Gianluigi Buffon was voted as the goalkeeper of the season. The Juventus number one had 8 cleansheets in the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile the female best player went to Lieke Martens
