ABSA PSL: Maritzburg coach wants Evans Rusike to stay

ABSA Premiership side Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids is hopeful that Zimbabwe international Evans Rusike will be at the club after transfer window period which closes next week.

Rusike has drawn interest from a number of clubs including giants Kaizer Chiefs. In June he was linked with a R5 million move to Orlando Pirates.

The coach told Kickoff.com that the lanky striker is not going to join any club.

“He [Ruskie] knows he’s going nowhere,” said Davids.

“We had a chat with him and he knows. He’s happy, he signed a new contract now so there is absolutely no chance that before the window anybody of our team or squad – definitely not even Rusike – will move.”

The 27 year old striker has so far scored three goals in four matches he played this season in all competitions.  The forward joined Maritzburg in 2015 and have recently a new contract with the club.
