Epoupa Ajax Deal Stalled Over Poor Offer

Details have emerged that the deal for a possible Christian Epoupa’s last minute transfer to Ajax Cape Town collapsed after the South African club offered a paltry $30 000 for the Cameroonian.

Epoupa skipped training last Thursday with his management hoping to seal a deal before transfer deadline on midnight of that day. However the deal fell through after the scouts purportedly representing Ajax Cape Town wanted Dynamos to clear the player first after offering $30 000.

” The guys who said were Ajax Cape Town scouts were negotiating in bad faith. They offered $30 000 which Dynamos deemed to be too low and also these guys wanted Dynamos to deregister Epoupa before the conclusion of the deal. So Dynamos refused because they argued that the player is worth much more than that,” said a source who requested anonymity.

Epoupa has been in terrific form for Dynamos guiding the Harare giants to a memorable 2-0 win over rivals Caps United at the weekend.

The brace catapulted the Cameroonian to the top of the leading goal scoring charts with 10, same number with former Bantu Rovers striker Bhukhosi Sibanda who left for the South African first division during the mid season transfer window.
