Referee’s Decision Affected Us claim CAPS

Caps United were left hard done by referee Nkosana Nduna after Dynamos scored a cushioning goal to make it 2-0 which all but sapped energy of a comeback out of the Green Machine.

Nduna penalised Moses Muchenje for a foul on Ocean Mushure wide on the left and Mushure dusted himself to whip in a pin point cross that Christian Epoupa rose to plant past Edmore Sibanda for an insurance goal fourteen minutes from time.

” I have watched the replays of that incident and Moses (Muchenje) won the ball but the referee thought otherwise. We are not giving excuses or disrespecting Dynamos but that decision was harsh. Referees are humans and make mistakes but also the mistakes cost matches,” said Caps assistant coach Fungai Kwashi.

” We can’t be giving excuses for the loss because it’s part of the game. We came to the part late because Dynamos dominated us early in the game. We didn’t have the same hunger as they had. Its always difficult to win the game when you are forced to chase the game because if you fail to equalise when chasing the game, you expose yourself at the back. We just need look ahead now,”.

Caps United never really threatened as Dynamos pinned them down from the first whistle and only managed to come out of their slumber towards the twilight of the first half.

Tafadzwa Rusike got the first real chance for Caps United after 37 minutes when he got to the end of a rebound after Devon Chafa’s shot was blocked by Lincoln Zvasiya but he hit the side netting.

That was to be his meaningful contribution to the game as he paved way for Muchenje in the second half.

The defeat ended a six match unbeaten run which had started with a victory over ZPC Kariba last month.
The absence of in-form Dominic Chungwa was really felt as both Amon Kambanje and substitute Abasarim Chidiebere were really imposing.
