Akbay says Highlanders will not focus on Epoupa only

Highlanders head coach Erol Akbay has said they cannot not afford to let their whole team concentrate on Dynamos’ man of the moment Christian Epoupa when the two side meet in potentially explosive tie set for Sunday at Rufaro Stadium.

Epoupa, a Cameroonian international has been scoring for fun at Dynamos and last weekend his superb brace buried CAPS United.

“We cannot focus on one player. We can’t afford to have our whole team seeking to contain the Cameroonian. That guy (Epoupa) should just be denied goal scoring opportunities by our defence line,” said the Dutch gaffer at Bosso’s weekly press conference.

Epoupa is now sitting on 11 goals and he was the man behind the controversial goal that led to the premature ending of the Bosso versus DeMbare first leg encounter at Barbourfields Stadium.

Meanwhile Akbay has revealed that his squad will go into battle without the services of steely defender Tendai Ndlovu who picked up a knock last Sunday.

They will however welcome back pint sized midfielder Ray Lunga and most probably Peter Muduhwa who is coming from a suspension.
