Mubaiwa Optimistic Of Chibuku Success

Dynamos president Keni Mubaiwa is optimistic that the Glamour Boys will this time around exorcise the ghost that has haunted them in the Chibuku Super Cup over the years after being drawn against Bulawayo City in the first round of this year’s tournament.

Dynamos are still to register success in the Chibuku Super Cup since its return in 2014 and didn’t have much success either in the old edition of the Chibuku Cup which went off the calendar in 1988.

” This is a fair result and we will see how it goes. We are playing well these days and we confident that the form in the league will transcend into the Chibuku Super Cup,” said Mubaiwa.

The best that DeMbare did in the tournament was reaching the final in 2015 in which they lost 2-1 to Harare City.

Last year they were booted out on penalties in the first round by How Mine.

Despite ruling the roost in the league in 2014, Dynamos crashed out of the tournament at the hands of Black Rhinos who were relegated that year.

All the country’s top three teams Dynamos, Caps United and Highlanders are still to win the Chibuku Super Cup since its return 2014.
