Report: Yadah, FC Platinum in stalemate as Tsholotsho stun Bulawayo City

Ngezi Platinum Stars leveled points on top of the table when they beat ZPC Kariba 2-0 in a league clash played at Nyamhunga Stadium.

Goals from Tichaona Mabvura and  Clive Augusto earned Ngezi a vital away win which kept them in the title contention.

Ngezi got an early lead through Augusto in the 13th minute before Mabvura doubled the lead five minutes before half time. They are now leveled on 52 points with Dynamos and FC Platinum.

FC Platinum moved to 52 points after an away goalless draw against Yadah at Rufaro Stadium.

Pure Platinum Play could have scored in the first half but their dominance yielded nothing. Ali Sadiki was their star player upfront. On the other hand, Yadah created chances in the second half but luck was not on their side.

The game ended with a lot of chances created but none was converted.

At Colliery, Lot Chiwunga was the toast of the day when his brace helped Black Rhinos back to winning ways after a 2-0 victory over Hwange.

Chiwunga opened the scoring in the 58th minute when he headed home a cross from Jameson Mukombwe. He sealed the victory for the Army side in the stoppage time.

This was Rhinos’ first win in ten matches.

Bulawayo City succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Tsholotsho in a match played at Barbourfields.

The result comes as a surprise considering Tsholotsho’s season form. Nqobile Mpala was the hero of the day when he scored twice to earn his team a third victory of the season. His first strike came as early as in the 1st minute. He completed his brace in the 69th.

Meanwhile, How Mine beat visiting Triangle United 2-1 at Luveve Stadium.
