S.A based Zim players round-up

Khama Billiat scored the only goal of the match in Mamelodi Sundowns’ win over Platinum Stars on Sunday.

The forward went on target in the second minute of the game when he beat his marker and smashed home a beautiful strike. His presence was heavily felt as he combined well upfront with Percy Tau causing havoc in their opponents’ back line. He could have scored more but he was constantly denied by the goalkeeper. He was later substituted in the 84th minute.

His team-mate Cuthbert Malajila finally made his first appearance for Sundowns this season when he was introduced just over the hour mark. His attempt in the 75th almost found the net but unfortunately it was cleared off the line by a defender.

Knox Mutizwa also scored over the weekend when he equalised for Golden Arrows in the 1-1 draw against Chippa United.

Mutizwa scored ten minutes after he came in as substitute with a well taken header inside the box. This was his second league goal of the season. Team-mate Kudakwashe Mahachi started the game and had a decent game on the day.

Polokwane City’s Walter Musona came in as a substitute in the 2-2 draw against Orlando Pirates.

He did not have much to show in the 28 minutes he played. Goalkeeper George Chigova did not play in the match after he picked up an injury before the game.

Bloemfontein Celtic’s Ronald Pfumbidzai started the game in his team’s 1-0 victory over Bidvest Wits while Evans Rusike played the whole game for Maritzburg in 0-1 defeat to Free State Stars.

Meanwhile, Talent Chawapiwa and Willard Katsande did not feature for their teams over the weekend. Katsande was out on suspension.
