Stars That Bantu Rovers Made

Bantu Rovers has over the years nurtured talent which has went on to become stars on international stage. From the likes of Kuda Mahachi, Teenage Hadebe and Marvelous Nekamba the Bulawayo side has continuously produced top class football talent.

Despite them being a struggling side in top flight football, its no doubt talent is never short at Bantu Rovers. On Thursday 28 September another history was written when a 15 year Sibusiso Moyo made his debut Premier Soccer League appearance in a match against Highlanders.

The young midfielder who plays for the club’s Under 16s came in as a replacement for  Pride Zivengwa. He later made his first team debut the following weekend. Now, the lad is already a star in the making.

Lets look at some of the big talents Bantu created during their nine year existence.

Kuda Mahachi
The speedy winger was part of the Bantu senior squad from 2012 before he moved to Chicken Inn two years later. He now plays for South African side Golden Arrows and he is a first team regular. He was part of the national team which reached the 2014 CHAN semi finals in South Africa.

Teenage Hadabe
Now at Kaizer Chiefs, the center back started his professional career at Bantu Rovers before he joined giants Highlanders in 2015 where he spent one season before moving to Chicken Inn. He is also a national team player and scored a brace for the Warriors in an international friendly game against Uganda in 2016. Hadebe was part of the squad which participated at 2017 AFCON Finals.

Marvelous Nakamba
Undoubtebly one of the best Zimbabwean midfielders ever, Nakamba  made his senior debut for Bantu Rovers at the age of sixteen in 2010. He moved to French side Nancy in 2012 and spent two seasons before he was signed by Vitesse. He now plays for  Belgian giants Club Brugge after he joined them in August 2017.

Crispen Ncube
Unknown to many, the former Bantu Rovers graduate now plays for Slovakian second division league side Topolcany FC.

Michael Kutsanzira
The 18 year old defender is now based in the United States of America on football scholarship. He is a bright and talented player and hopefully one day his talent will make it in to the American Major League Soccer.

Bukhosi Sibanda
He was the Castle Larger Premier Soccer League top goal scorer before he left for National First Division side Ubuntu Cape Town FC in South Africa. He scored 10 league goals prior to his departure in July. He is the Young Warriors captain.

Danny Phiri
Though the Golden Arrows midfielder started his career as a youth at Amazulu Juniors and then Railstars, his senior career was shaped at Bantu Rovers. He joined Chicken Inn in 2011 and went on to became Soccer Star of The Year in 2015. He is a national team regular and was part of the squad which qualified for AFCON 2017.

Tafadzwa Kutinyu
The midfielder once attended trials at Belgian side Club Brugge in 2014. However he joined Chicken Inn the following year after Bantu Rovers was relegeted from PSL in the previous campaign. He was part of the Chicken Inn squad which won the league in 2015. He now plays in Tanzanian Premiership for Singida United.

Well, the list is very long. Several stars are introduced to local football every season and this shows Bantu Rover is the another cradle of football development in the country.
