Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta has signed a new ‘lifetime’ contract which will keep him at the club for the remainder of his career.
The midfielder joined the club in 1996 at the age of 12 and has scored 55 goals after making his first-team debut in October 2002. He has made 639 appearances for Barcelona so far and ranks second on the all-time games played list at the club.
A statement from the club’s website said:
“Andres Iniesta signed a lifetime contract with FC Barcelona on Friday, in a deal that will keep him at the club for the rest of his career.”
Iniesta and Leo Messi share the record for the most titles in Barca history, with 30.
