Report: Harare City, How Mine progress to the semis of Super Cup

Harare City and How Mine progressed to the semi finals of the Chibuku Super Cup after they picked up wins on Saturday afternoon.

Harare City edged Black Rhinos 1-0 in a match played at Rufaro Stadium.

Protasho Kabwe scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute. The Sunshine Boys created several chances including three free kicks on the edge of the box but they were all wasted. They had another chance in the second half but goalkeeper Hebert Rusuwo made a brilliant save.

However Rhinos’ only meaningful chance came on the hour mark when Lot Chiwunga’s effort was cleared off the line.

The scoreline remained the same at the end of the game, sending Harare City to the next round.

Elsewhere How Mine beat Chapungu 2-1 in a tie played at Ascot Stadium.

Rio Moyo opened the scoring when he finished off Tsepo Ranthokoane’s cross in the 37th minute. Tinashe Makanda doubled the lead on the stroke of half time.

Chapungu pulled back one 12 minutes in to the second half when Ricky Bota scored from a free kick.

The Gweru side tried to come back to the game but the luck was not on their side as the game ended 2-1 in favour of Chikurupati
