Beefy Praying For A Semi Final Duel Against How Mine

Harare City coach Philani ‘Beefy ‘ Ncube is hoping for a draw against his former side How Mine in the Chibuku Super Cup semi finals.

The Sunshine Boys progressed through to the semi final after beating a determined Black Rhinos 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday. Protasho Kabwe scored the only goal of the match in the first half.

“If we get How Mine then we are in the final. I am just praying that we are drawn against How Mine and if that happens then my work is cut out,” said Ncube after the victory.

The gaffer however denied that his talk was motivated by revenge after he was sacked by How Mine a few seasons ago.

“It’s not about that but it’s that when you are up against coaches who think , you also get to think and you beat them. Not that I am saying that all other coaches don’t think but there are certain coaches who make things come into the game.”

Ncube reached the semis with How Mine in 2014 beating Highlanders in the quarter finals on penalties at Ascot Stadium in Gweru. Harare City together with FC Platinum are the most successful teams in the tournament with one title apiece and two times final appearances. The Sunshine Boys can eclipse Platinum if they reach this year’s final.
