PSL summons Gumbo for disciplinary hearing

Chicken Inn coach Rahman Gumbo has been summoned to appear before the Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee for causing the abandonment of the Chibuku Super Cup first round match between his team and Yadah.

According to SportsZone, the summons were signed by the PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele. Gumbo will be charged with an act of misconduct after he violated PSL’s Oder 31.

“You are therefore required to appear before the Disciplinary Committee at the offices of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on19th October, 2017 at 5PM. You are not entitled to legal representation at the disciplinary hearing but if you are duly registered player with the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, the vice chairman of the club with which you are registered may attend and assist you during proceedings,” reads part of the summons.

The match was called off after Gumbo led his charges out of the pitch in protest over a penalty awarded to Yadah in the last minute of their cup tie. PSL awarded the match to Yadah FC on a 3-0 scoreline and fined Chicken Inn $2 000. The Gamecocks will not take part in next season’s campaign.

Meanwhile Gumbo is expected to respond within two days upon receiving the summons.
