CAPS United have condemned the ugly scenes that happened at Maglas Stadium during a Chibuku Super Cup match played on Sunday.

The Harare giants were playing against Shabanie Mine in a quarter final clash and the match was abandoned in the 65th minute after CAPS United fans pelted missiles on assistant referee, injuring him on the eye. This happened after the official disallowed a goal.

In a press release from the club, a board member responsible for club supporters has been assigned to investigate the matter.

The statement reads:

As CAPS United Football Club, we would like to categorically state that we do not in any way tolerate acts of hooliganism and violence before, during and after matches. Such embarrassing and life threatening disturbances should be condemned in strongest terms.

In regard to the ugly scenes that transpired at Maglas Stadium  on Sunday, the Board Member responsible for our supporters has been assigned to conduct investigations and fans who will be caught on the wrong side of the law will be brought to book. We also appeal to law enforcement agents to assist us in apprehending the culprits.

Pitch envisions and missile throwing should never be allowed near football activities as it costs the club huge sums of money.
