Another big football weekend lies ahead

A big football weekend is just around the corner with four big matches from four different countries lined up.

At Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo, Highlanders and FC Platinum renew their rivalry in match day 28. The clash promises to be an exciting one with Tshilamoya hoping to build from their last round’s 4-0 triumph over Chicken Inn. Should they manage to win on Sunday, it will a huge blow to the Pure Platinum Play who are in chase for the title. In the first leg of the encounter, violence marred what started as a beautiful game and hopefully this time nothing of that sort will happen.

Across Limpopo, it is Cape Town City and SuperSport United in the final of the 2017 MTN8.

The match will be played on Saturday at Moses Mabhidha Stadium in Durban. Supersport will be hoping to inflict misery on Benny McCarthy who is in pursuit for his first silverware at the club.

In Europe two big matches will played in two of the world’s most exciting football leagues.

England’s biggest football rivalry will see Manchester United and Liverpool clash at Anfield. Tempers are always high in this tie as both teams will be fighting for supremacy and dominance.

In recent meetings, the two teams have played out to stalemates. The game will be on Saturday starting at 1pm.

Elsewhere, Barcelona will make their first visit to the Spain’s capital city, Madrid since that disputed referendum on independence of Catalonia.

They will play against another La Liga heavy weight Atletico Madrid  at the newly buit Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. Barca have a 100% start to the season and their visit to Madrid will be a severe test around an atmosphere certain to be intensified by political favour.

You can catch all the live action on SuperSport channels on DSTV.
