Chicken Inn coach Rahman Gumbo believes his team is still in the title race despite them dropping points in recent matches.
The Gamecocks played Shabanie Mine to a 1-1 draw away in Zvishavane on Friday. The visitors went in to the lead in the first half through Passmore Bernard but Farai Mupasiri’s goal from a freekick on the hour mark snatched a point for the home team.
With six games left for them, Gumbo thinks they are not yet out.
“We are still in the race with a realistic chance of winning. There are still games to play and anything can happen. We have a chance of winning the league and we will keep on fighting,” he said in a post match interview.
The gaffer, however bemoaned the referee’s decision to award Shabanie Mine a freekick which cancelled out their lead.
“They benefited from that decision, there was no infringement there when they were awarded that free-kick”
Chicken Inn remain on fourth position with 52 points.
