Ndiraya Takes Aim At Dynamos

Buoyed by a good home record, Ngezi Platinum are now aiming for nothing short of a victory in their next assignment against Dynamos after stuttering away to Chapungu on Wednesday.

Ngezi Platinum dropped two crucial points in the one all draw at Ascot stadium and coach Tonderai Ndiraya say they need to beat Dynamos at all costs to remain within a touching distance of log leaders FC Platinum.

“We take confidence that in the reverse fixture Dynamos didn’t outplay us even though we lost. We dominated the game and it is that display that gives us confidence in our next game. We have done well at home where we haven’t lost in a while in the league. We know what to expect against Dynamos and we are really prepared for them,” said Ndiraya.

“ Against Chapungu it was difficult for us because the stadium is always hard to play due to the strong winds and the surface. Also my boys had heavy legs in the first half because of the traveling we did, going to Bulawayo at the weekend, back to Mhondoro and now to Gweru.  In as much as we wanted the three points, a point away from home is still good for us. We are still very much in the title race and with a big chance. We just need to remain focused and continue pushing,” added Ndiraya.

Ngezi Platinum found themselves on the back foot ten minutes before halftime when Osborne Mukuradare headed home from a close range.  Xolisani ‘Scara’ Moyo equalised midway through the second half as Ngezi Platinum piled on the pressure but failed to get the winner as Chapungu defended well.

The result saw them drop into third position two points behind FC Platinum who saw off neighbours Shabanie Mine 2-0. Dynamos also stumbled, drawing 1-1 against lowly but stubborn Tsholotsho relinquishing the top spot to Norman Mapeza’s side by a point.
