Stix Mutizwa blames the referee after a goalless draw

Black Rhinos coach Stanford ‘Stix’ Mutizwa has blamed the referee after they drew 0-0 against CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played on Thursday.

Rhinos played the greater part of the game with ten men after their captain Bruce Homora was given his marching orders in the 22nd minute. Homora was sent off after a dangerous high boot on CAPS United striker Dominic Chungwa.

Mutizwa, however says their game plan was disrupted after the red card and they could have won the match if they played the whole game with 11 players.

“They gave us a red card which I think was too harsh and  it really disturbed and reduced our game plan. We could have won this match,” said the disappointed coach.

“They went on to add six minutes at the end of the match. These are the same referees who handled our last tie against Yadah where they added an unjustified five extra minutes with hope that Yadah will equalize and they scored. Are we now short of referees?”

Despite Mutizwa’s assertion, Chauya Chipembere have themselves to blame after they wasted several chances. CAPS, on the other hand, did little to take advantage of the red card as they never made serious threats on goal.
