CAF President set to visit Zim

The Confederation of African Football president Ahmad Ahmad is set to visit Zimbabwe before the end of the year.

According to The Herald, Ahmad accepted an invitation to visit the country, becoming the first CAF president to tour this nation. The visit is expected to open a number of opportunities in the development of the domestic game.

Chiyangwa who is still in England where he had gone to attend the FIFA Awards confirmed the visit in a telephone conversation with the newspaper.

“I am excited to announce that CAF president Ahmad is set to visit Zimbabwe. I had lunch with him in London together with the Tunisian FA president Wadie Jary,’’ said Chiyangwa.

“I will hear from the CAF president’s office on which dates are suitable for him to visit, but that should be before year end. I am trying to find the best possible deals that can assist our game from the juniors to the seniors and for both men and women.’’

Meanwhile, Chiyangwa also said he has been invited to Tunisia to attend the Tunisian FA Congress on November 10 where he will also watch their game on November 11. He also said they agreed on competitions and technical cooperation between Zimbabwe and Tunisia which will help develop local game.

The ZIFA president was in South Africa last weekend where he was a guest of honor at the SAFA Congress before he left to London to attend the awards.
