ZIFA acquires new sponsor

The Zimbabwe Football Assocition (ZIFA) have acquired a sponsor who will help them secure the services of the man they believe is the best candidate to coach the Warriors on a substantive basis

According to Herald, an agreement was reached between ZIFA and an anonymous sponsor on Wednesday.

The ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa confirmed the development.

“After lengthy deliberations with the sponsor on Wednesday, an agreement was reached for us to bring in quality coaches whom we feel can add real value to the Warriors,” said Chiyangwa.

“The cost of doing so isn’t an issue because the partner is ready to pay a substantial amount for such specialist professional service because it doesn’t come cheap and that is why we have cast our net as wide as possible to try and bring the best of the coaching talent we believe can make a difference.”

Meanwhile, Chiyangwa said they have come up with a short list of candidates which includes former Zimbabwe internationals Bruce Grobbelaar and Peter Ndlovu. He also revealed they had already interviewed former Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas for the same job.

A few days ago there were reports which suggested that the football mother board are deciding to rope in former CAPS United coach Mark Harrison.
