Mapeza Cry Foul

Norman Mapeza questioned this weekend’s fixtures after his side played out a goalless draw against Harare City in Friday.

Mapeza felt the haste in re arranging the fixture by a day from Saturday to Friday somehow had an effect on his team’s preparations for the game.

“ I wouldn’t want to talk about this because in this country if you speak out against something, you are sanctioned and I don’t want to be sanctioned. I also don’t want to be seen as being a crybaby or trying to cause confusion so I won’t speak much on this,” said Mapeza.

“ But for you is it fair if you were FC Platinum president or chairman being told that the match is now on such a date. In all Honest what were you going to do or say,” quipped Mapeza.

The match was moved to Friday to accommodate the television coverage of the match on Supersport television as well as the Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos match at Baobab stadium the following day before the crew returns to Harare for the match between Caps United and Hwange on Sunday.

FC Platinum dropped two crucial matches in their second match running in Harare despite dominating the early exchanges. FC Platinum were held to a goalless draw by Yadah their last match in the capital despite having their opponents on the back foot for almost their entire match. Platinum started the match against Harare City like a house on fire creating a number of chances in the early stages. They should also count themselves unlucky when Mkhokheli Dube hit the upright towards the end of the match. The result gives an advantage to Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos since they will now be playing with less pressure.
