Dynamos’ tittle hopes suffered a set-back when they lost 2-0 to Ngezi Platinum in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match-day 30 encounter played at Baobab Stadium.
The much anticipated blockbuster was marred by crowd trouble, forcing the game to be stopped at some points.
The Glamour Boys slumped to third position on the table after the defeat while Ngezi, on the other hand, moved to with 60 points, only separated from second placed FC Platinum by goal difference.
The match started with the visitors creating some chances but the hosts soon settled and the play became evenly balanced moments later. With the game approaching the half time, emotions ran high between the coaches from both sides after they exchanged some hash words.
However, tampers were cooled down and the teams went to half time on dead lock.
After eight minutes played in the second half, Qadr Amini put Madamburo in to the lead before Xolisani Moyo doubled the advantage two minutes later.
It was Moyo’s goal which whipped up Dembare fans’ fury and they invaded the pitch, chasing the ball boys away.
The action resumed minutes later but they was another pitch invasion by the visiting fans in the 78th minute. This prompted the Ngezi players to leave the pitch and seek refuge in dressing rooms.
Finally, the action resumed ten minutes later but Dynamos failed to make amends in the remaining twelve minutes.
The scoreline remained unchanged at the end of 90 minutes, giving Ngezi their first league win over Dynamos.
Meanwhile, at other centers, Chapungu beat Bulawayo City 3-1 in a match played at Barbourfields.
Blessing Sahondo scored a brace while Allen Tavarwisa added another. Ishmael Wadi was on target for the hosts.
At Rufaro Stadium, How Mine beat Yadah 1-0. The game between ZPC Kariba and Chicken was postponed to tomorrow due to water-logged pitch.
