Five picks from CLPSL Match-day 30

Great action happened during the Match-day 30 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. However there were some disturbing events occured and here are the five takeaways from the weekend’s action.

Ngezi shoots to the top
Ngezi Platinum moved to the top of the table after they beat Dynamos 2-0 in a match played at Baobab Stadium on Saturday. They are now on 60 points only separated from FC Platinum on goal difference.

The Glamour Fans’s moment of madness
Very ugly scenes in Ngezi happened when Dynamos fans envaded the pitch and chased away a ball boy after they conceded a second goal inside two minutes. The fans were incensed by the antics of a ball boy who threw the ball into the nets and they thought it was juju.

The touch line fight
The Ngezi-Dynamos clash was filled with drama.  Before the second half disturbances, both coaches Tonderai Ndiraya and Lloyd Mutasa clashed on the touch line. Goalkeepers coaches Gift ‘ Umbro’ Muzadzi and Zondai Nyaungwa also clashed moments later.

CAPS’ unbeaten run continues
CAPS United’s unbeaten league run stretched to ten matches after they drew 1-1 against Hwange on Sunday.

Nadolo’s first touch magic
Highlanders’ King Nadolo scored the second goal in Sunday’s victory with his first touch in the 84th minute. He was introduced as a substitute in the 83rd minute.

As a bonus, the sixth takeaway is from a rescheduled game between CAPS United and Highlanders played on Thursday. Dominic Chungwa scored a brace to take his season tally to 14 goals while Devon Chafa scored a screamer which could stand as one of the best goals of the season.
