We Gave Hwange A Life Line: Caps United

Caps United assistant coach Fungai Kwashi feels the failure by his strikers to put away chances allowed Hwange to snatch a 1-1 draw at the National Sports stadium.

Kwashi believes if they had utilised their chances, Hwange could have found it hard to score.

“ We Gave Hwange a lifeline because we created a number of chances which we put to waste. Had we scored those chances especially in the first half, there is no way Hwange were going to comeback,” said Kwashi.

“ We came into the match fully knowing what Hwange were capable of and we didn’t want to spoil it after that impressive win over Highlanders in Thursday. They played well but I feel that we could have won this match considering the chances we had,”.

Delic Murimba put Hwange ahead late in the second half but barely had their celebrations subsided, Caps United equalised through John Zhuwawu. The draw saw Caps United move to 50 points, six behind fourth places Chicken Inn and four ahead of sixth placed How Mine.
