ZPC Kariba are difficult to beat: Mapeza

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has conceded that ZPC Kariba is one of the teams which always makes it difficult for his side to collect maximum points.

The Zvishavane side square off against their nemesis in a match day 31 league fixture at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.

The Sunday Chidzambwa coached side has never lost a league match to FC Platinum in the last two seasons and to make matters worse for Pure Platinum Play, their last league defeat at home came in May, last year in a match against ZPC Kariba.

“In the past two seasons we have been struggling to get maximum points against ZPC Kariba. In our reverse fixture in Kariba we played out to a goalless draw hence the need for us to work more hard,” said Mapeza.

However the coach is confident of collecting maximum points this time around considering that any slip up might spell disaster in their championship pursuit. With four games to play they are tied on 60 points together with Ngezi Platinum Stars. However Ngezi are perched at the top due to a superior goal difference.

“We have been working very hard as a group, so that we will be able to win our tie against ZPC. What is important at this stage of the competition now are three points and so we must win all our remaining matches, starting with the ZPC game on Saturday”, added Mapeza.
