Chiyangwa threatens to Sue Supersport

Philip Chiyangwa the Zimbabwe Football Association president says he wants to sue South African broadcaster Supersport for peddling falsehoods about him misappropriating association’s funds.

Speaking at his offices in Harare on Friday, Chiyangwa accused Supersport for regurgitating what he termed a false story by a ‘bribed’ journalist paid to soil his image.

“ I want to sue them. South Africa is a healthy economy and I want to sue them heavily. I am not even relenting on that one,”said Chiyangwa.

“ I was called by my vice president (Omega Sibanda) telling me to tune in to Soccer Africa on Supersport. They were peddling falsehoods manufacturered here by paid journalist. That’s why I am suing them all the local journalist and Supersport,”.

Chiyangwa claimed the reports about misappropriation of funds and association’s property was aimed at getting him in trouble the Federation of International Football Associations, (FIFA).

“ You write that kurikushaikwa mari ku Zifa ndeyamaivako here. You wanted me to get in trouble with FIFA but my books very clean . Actually FIFA are asking me if I need money,” bragged Chiyangwa.
