Relocation To Beitbridge Cost Tsholotsho: Dodo

Darlington Dodo reckons that the decision by the Tsholotsho’s executive to play their home matches at Dulivhadzimu stadium in Beitbridge costed the team their premier league berth.

Tsholotsho were officially relegated from the Castle Lager premier league after losing 1-0 to Chicken Inn on Friday and Dodo feels the team technically played all their matches away from home.

“ From a football point of view that decision really affected the team’s performance. We were always on the road and imagine if I could feel the pinch of traveling as a coach, what more of the players who would do the running,” said Dodo.

“ Imagine we would leave Bulawayo and arrive in Beitbridge just before bathe game and be back on the road. We understand the decision was a monetary one to move to Beitbridge but it costed the team,”.

Tsholotsho became the second team after Bantu Rovers to get relegated with four games before the end of the season. Iziqolo ze Zhwane were promoted into the premier league in 2014 but spent the past two seasons fighting relegation.
