Shabanie Mine chances of avoiding the drop are ebbing away, but the Chinda boys will not give up so long as survival remains possible.

Shabanie Mine will not throw in the towel so long as there is still a chance of beating the drop, insists coach Takesure Chiragwi.

The Zvishavane outfit drew 1-1 with Black Rhinos while Relegation rivals Yadah beat Bulawayo City 2-0, and in the process slipped further adrift in relegation of the Premier Soccer League on Saturday, it was their fifth 1-1 draw in six matches, seeing the gap between themselves and safety widen to four points with three games remaining.

But while the odds on Shabanie Mine avoiding relegation are lengthening by the week, Takesure Chiragwi says raising the white flag is not an option and instead the Chinda boys must concentrate on picking up all three points in their remaining matches.

“We were supposed to grab all the three points, we created so many chances and sometimes football is crazy, you fail to win matches when you have done everything except scoring. As a coach, I think I should be happy because the reason why we are getting into those scoring positions shows that we are doing something right.

“We will fight until the last game of the season. I’m very confident that we can survive because we are still in with a chance.We will keep fighting, these guys really want to continue playing in the PSL,” he said.
