Match Preview: Zimbabwe face Lesotho in International Friendly

Lesotho’s senior soccer side Likuena will host an international friendly match against Zimbabwe’s Warriors tonight during the FIFA break.

Likuena head coach Mr. Moses Maliehe expressed happiness at the prospects of playing a tough opponent and the match will be played at Setsoto stadium at 1930hrs.

Both teams are using the matches is to prepare for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches.

Likuena last played an official game against Comoros where they were unceremoniously knocked out of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers by a 2-1 aggregate score.

Likuena lost the first leg 2-0 and won at home by a solitary goal.

The Warriors will be favourites to walk over Lesotho with interim coach Wilson Mutekede having assembled a very strong line up with a new dispensation of fresh blood in the mould of the British based players of Tendayi Darikwa, Admiral Muskwe, Macauley Bonne and Kundai Benyu.

Zimbabwe and Lesotho last met at the COSAFA Cup in July where the former edged Likuena 4-3 enroute to winning the regional tournament.

The two teams have met 19 times in head to head clashes with Zimbabwe winning 14 times, losing only once while four of the matches has ended as draws.
