Shabanie coach hails players after moving closer to survival

Shabanie Mine coach manager Takesure Chiragwi says his players deserved to win and stay in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after moving to a victory away from the surviving relegation with a 1-0 home success over Hwange.

A goal from Richard Kawondera helped the Chinda boys ease home at Maglas Stadium, with the defeat also pushing Hwange deep into relegating with two games remaining.

Shabnie now has a two-point advantage over Bulawayo City who occupy the last relegation spot and a win over How Mine on Sunday afternoon will seal their spot in next year’s Premiership action.

Speaking after the match Chiragwi hailed the players while admitting the job is still far from being completed.

“I’m delighted for my players, they deserve this. We are showing that we deserve to play in the league.

“Now, we have taken another step to survival. We have to prepare well for the next match.”
