Guest Team Zimbabwe has been drawn against record champions Uganda in a five-team Group B of the 2017 CECAFA together with Burundi, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

Former champions Rwanda and Zanzibar make the five-team Group A of the competition with Tanzania, Kenya and Zanzibar completing the group.

The tournament is scheduled to run for two weeks, from Sunday 3 – Sunday 17 December. Kenya last hosted the tournament in 2013 and went on to win it with a 2 – 0 victory over Sudan in the final.
