One goal will be enough: Mapeza

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza says one goal will be enough to win the league when they play Chapungu in a season finale at Ascot Stadium on Saturday.

The Zvishavane side are currently leading with 69 points, two better than the second placed Dynamos.

“One goal will be enough to win us a match against Chapungu. We are not going to put ourselves under unnecessary pressure saying this is our last match, all we want is a win whether it is 1, 2 3 or 4 goals I don’t care. What we want is to go to Chapungu and grind out a positive result. That is the biggest priority for us as a club,” said Mapeza.

“I don’t think there will be anything that will stop us from winning the league. We just need to go to Chapungu and get a positive result because if we lose or draw and Dynamos win against Chicken Inn then its over. We all know what is at stake, we go there and win the match.”

A win for Pure Platinum Play will see them breaking a long standing record set in 1966 by St Paul Musami. They will become the first team based outside Harare and Bulawayo in fifty one years to win the championship.

Meanwhile, Dynamos are hosting Chicken Inn at the National Sport Stadium on the same day and the Glamour Boys also want nothing short of a victory.
