S.A based Zim players round-up

Teenage Hadebe made his second league appearance for Kaizer Chiefs in a 1-1 draw against Free State Stars on Saturday.

The defender was in the first XI and played the whole ninety minutes. Teammate Willard Katsande was also part of the team and he had a decent game.

Knox Mutizwa was the only Zimbabwean in Golden Arrows’ squad which drew 2-2 with Cape Town City. Mutizwa came in as a substitute in the 46th minute. Kuda Mahachi who is a regular in the first team was not part of the squad.

On the flip side, City goalkeeper, Tatenda Mkuruva did not play in the encounter.

AmaZulu midfielder Butholezwe Ncube continued with his fine form when he made another start as Usuthu snatched a  point in Cape Town against Ajax Cape Town. Winger Ovidy Karuru is still shaping up after recovering from a knee injury and he only played 14 minutes after coming in as a substitute in the 76th minute.

Bloemfontein Celtic fullback Ronald Pfumbidzai did not play while Talent Chawapiwa was substituted on the 66th minute mark in Baroka’s 2-2 draw against Platinum Stars.

Maritzburg forward Evans Rusike was replaced in the late stages of the game while Khama Billiat returned in to the first XI in Mamelodi Sundowns’ away goalless draw against Chippa United.

In the previous round, Billiat came in as a substitute in the second half and scored a brace.

Meanwhile, Kingston Nkhatha played for nine minutes for SuperSport United in the second leg of the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup Final against TP Mazembe. His team finished as runners up after failing to overturn a 2-1 loss  in the first leg.
