Polokwane City goalkeeper George Chigova was named Man of the match when his side drew 1-1 against Bidvest Wits on Saturday.

Chigova pulled some great saves especially in the second half despite conceding in the late stages of the game. Meanwhile, teammate Walter Musona returned to the first XI after he came in as a substitute in the previous round.

Midfielder Willard Katsande received a yellow card in Kaizer Chiefs’ 1-0 win at Platinum Stars.

Katsande who had a decent game on the day was cautioned ten minutes in to the second half. Defender Teenage Hadebe made another start in Chiefs line up while Edmore Chirambadare was not part of the squad.

Evans Rusike’s heroic performance helped Maritzburg United beat Baroka 3-0 on Friday.

Rusike ended his goal drought with a brace completed in the second half. He scored his first goal in the 31st minute before netting his second on the 53rd minute mark.

The striker had last scored in a league match in August. He was substituted in the 77th minute. On the other hand, Talent Chawapiwa was an unused substitute on Baroka bench.

Ronald Pfumbidzai featured in Bloemfontein Celtic’s 3-0 win over Free State Stars while Ovidy Karuru came in as a second half substitute for AmaZulu against Orlando Pirates.

Fellow Zimbabwean at Usuthu, Butholezwe Ncube was in the first team but was replaced in the 81st minute.

Golden Arrows forward Thomas Chideu returned from injury when he was introduced as a substitute ten minutes in to the second half against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kuda Mahachi and Knox Mutizwa also featured for Arrows but Mahachi was yellow carded on the hour mark. He came very close to score in the opening minutes of the game but his thunderous long-range effort hit the crossbar.

Khama Billiat was not part of the Sundowns squad.

In a tweet made yesterday evening, the forward said he did not play because of an injury.
